About the role
We are looking for a business-oriented Energy & Technical Manager to take responsibility for driving and developing this critical area within our organisation. Based in Sweden, the role will primarily focus on our Swedish operations, but you will also contribute strategically to our activities in Finland, Denmark, and Norway. With over 100 properties in a diversified portfolio spanning office, residential, logistics and light industrial sectors across the Nordics, this role offers a unique opportunity to lead energy and technical initiatives. You will work closely with our Asset Managers and ESG team to ensure the best, most cost-efficient and forward-thinking solutions for our properties.
As Energy & Technical Manager, you will play a central role in supporting and developing the energy and technical strategies for Areim. Your responsibilities will include setting goals, prioritizing actions and driving projects to improve energy efficiency, reduce costs and enhance technical performance across our portfolio. The position is full-time and based at the company's office at Regeringsgatan 30-32B in Stockholm. You will report to the company’s Head of Asset Management Sweden and be part of the Swedish Asset Management team.
What you will do
- Collaborate with the Asset Management team to develop a strategic roadmap and relevant targets in line with Areim’s overall goals
- Prioritize and implement energy-saving measures across the property portfolio
- Provide technical support to the organisation and act as a bridge between the AM team and ESG team
- Monitor energy usage against established targets and identify improvement opportunities through site visits
- Plan and execute energy projects in close collaboration with Asset Managers and internal/external partners
- Drive improvements in the portfolio’s EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) rating
- Lead the implementation of technical initiatives aligned with Areim’s sustainability strategy
- Participate in due diligence processes during property acquisitions
- Ensure compliance with energy declarations and identify areas for enhancement
- Stay updated on energy performance requirements, technological developments and ESG frameworks to ensure Areim remains ahead of market trends
- Establish a joint process to control and monitor energy use within the Nordic property portfolio
- Responsible for the energy monitoring systems
- Close cooperation with Asset Managers for governance of external suppliers

Qualifications
To succeed in this role we believe you have:
- A university degree or relevant vocational training in property management, technical property management or a related field
- At least 10 years of experience working with energy and technical management in commercial properties
- A proven track record of successfully leading energy and technical projects
- A solid understanding of sustainability and energy optimization
- Strong communication skills in both English and Swedish, including verbal and written proficiency
- The ability to see the big picture across a large portfolio and prioritize actions effectively
Bonus points if you also have:
- Experience working with ESG frameworks and technical innovations
