About the role
We are looking for a curious and analytical fund controller for our team at Areim. In this role you have the opportunity to work within a professional and supporting team and the position offers you a chance to, together with a colleague, be responsible for one of our real estate funds and its investments. The role includes a broad scope within real estate fund operations, including reporting, analyzing financial performance of our real estate investments, fund administration, and liquidity planning. You will work closely with the finance team as well as other functions within Areim and there is great possibility for a fast and exciting learning curve if you are proactive with high collaboration skills. The position is dynamic and may evolve over time, offering you room to take on new challenges and broaden your responsibilities in line with both your own development and Areim’s continued expansion. The position is based in the city center of Stockholm where you report to Head of Fund Control/Finance manager.
What you will do
- Financial and performance reporting to investors, banks, FSA, and internal stakeholders.
- Responsible for monitoring and analyzing financial performance and project outcomes in collaboration with the asset management team, and actively contributing to the development of our processes related performance follow-up
- Cash flow planning and analysis of the funds and investments.
- Support the fund manager and the asset management team in financial matters, including VAT and tax issues related to real estate.
- Involvement in business and budget planning for the fund and its investments.
- Close contacts with external accounting firms, auditors, and custodians.
- Coordinate and overview the process for annual reports, income tax return and property tax declarations. Active contribution in different internal projects to enhance financial processes and corporate initiatives.
Qualifications and suitable background
- At least 2-3 years of full-time work experience from audit, accounting or business control
- Previous experience from the real estate industry is a requirement for this role
- University degree (MSc) preferably in accounting, finance or business
- Knowledge of reporting in accordance with IFRS, and additional expertise in group accounting is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge in Microsoft 365, specifically in Excel and Word
- Strong communication abilities in both English and Swedish, encompassing both written and verbal skills

You have a genuine interest in improving business operations, and experience in developing IT support tools is considered an advantage. You are solution-oriented and enjoy driving and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
